Use gif images, they are much more compressed than jpegs and were originally designed for use on the web. Rixius was right, try the save for the web option, you can save gif files there and tweak their options.

Perhaps you have the privacy settings too high? Tools>internet options go to the privacy tab. Would pay to have a look at the security Tab while you're at it, just take a look at what it is blocking. Sorry for not being more specific. Slade
