Any school that teaches programming will eventually get you to C++. I suggest [Programming -- Principles and Practice Using C++](http://www.stroustrup.com/Programming/) by Brarne Stroustrup. C++ is a perfectly good starrting place to learn programming. Stroustroup teaches programming using C++ as the implementation language.
