clemmie your login problem could be easily solved with a new windows 7 installation. Buy a USB and create a windows 7 bootable USB with the USB, off another computer :http://www.wikihow.com/Make-a-USB-Bootable#Making_a_Windows_Vista_or_7_Install_Drive_sub and then install it on your laptop. Your old documents will be saved in a folder called windows.old though.
