I think at this particular time Google is becoming more smart and achieving an anchor based link from web 2.0 is super easy. So why would Google give it a value if everybody can make these kind of backlinks. I hope you understand

I too faced the similar issue but when I checked the spam folder of my email, I found the mail there. Sometimes, the mail get some delivery issues and thus marked as spam by most of the email service provider.

Providing an ALT text to image is adding the information to the image so that crawlers of search engines like Google, Yahoo etc can understand what the image is all about. Also it helps images rank in Google Image search results for targeted keywords.
