Have you checked the dirvers on your video card?
I think you need to give us more info - e.g. is this is a problem on an otherwise unchanged system, do you have a sound card or using audio from the motherboard, ..............

It mat be too late but I have had a similar problem. "solved" by booting up in VGA mode, problem for me seemed to be a hardware glitch on the video card.
