Geocities no longer a good place to make website, as they put a huge ugly banner if you go for free website.
These are also part of online marketing.
Also make sure not too many people are advertizing in your forum as it may harm your ranking.
I have eben using Photoshop and Illustrator till now, will be trying VidMorph fro now on.
The easiest to work is Frontpage .And Eclipse the most complicated one .Yu should start with Frontpage if you want to create a static website.
The best tutorial for HTML i have seen ,is on w3schools.com. It has tutorials on other web related technologies too.
You have to start with HTML then move towards CSS,PHP or ASP or JSP .HTML is most easy to learn and will give you a kick start
I think Javascropt can do this.
