hmm, have you tried auto detecting your hdd? if so, and still you were not able to detect your hdd, it might be of a defective hdd... btw, have you tried using your friend's mobo for detecting your drive?
find another defective drive with the same model then try replacing the circuit board with another drive, if you're lucky, you'll be able to revive your drive...(that's what i did with my old hdd that contains sources of my apps...) not 100% sure but it's worth the try though..
or you can use third party package creator such as setup factory... this will give you a more sophisticated installer (options such as adding a serial number validation, more simple registry customization, etc.) hth...
