I suggest you try OpenDNS Basic (It's free) and see if that resolves your issues.

Have you tried connecting it to an external monitor to eliminate the possibility that it is a problem with the screen or cable?

A cheat I have found for getting around any permissions errors are to go the root of the drive and take ownership. Take the option to include containing and sub folders. Good luck

I have witnessed this with tablet PC's. Experiment with your display settings. Change it to 800x600 verify it is ok, then try changing it to where you want it to be.
