The inverter or tube probably has a problem you can repair this by going to google and typing in laptop backlight problem and the first site will tell you how to repair it. It could also be your tube.

your dim screen is caused by your inverter or your tube. there are websites that you can buy inverters or can repair the dim laptop screen.
sony laptops wont boot becuase they need to be serviced. They have excellent protection and as a saftey aspect for not blowing the chipset they wont boot up. type "laptop repairs" in google and click on any natural listing
