i have a friends pc with xp pro x64 on it .and my friend tried to repair with an xp home cd ,now when i bootup it loads the win xp logo and after that it says starting up xp pro and it just hangs there and keyboard turns off …

hi i have this comp and all lights come on and fans but no picture on moniter its sounds like it want to boot up but then dies but lights and fans still run what could this be .help on this would be great thanks .

which side of an ide cable should be nearest to the power supply on the hard if anyone could help that would be nice .
