Did you enable on board sound card via BIOS?
Something is wrong with your ISP, Once a week or so is normal. minimum wage tech support - you get what you pay for. You don't expect bill gates to answer your queries when you are paying $20 a month for internet.
Do you have JavaScript enabled?

Different people will have different opinions... If its for office work, I prefer branded, and will buy from store which has the best service history in my area.
Disable one of them via BIOS
Try disabling all programs, which auto start with Windows.
Maybe that's why they say - try before you buy!
Try using another CD drive
