Drill the hole on raised part of cartridge,remove the label on top,Fill the syringe from the ink,insert the ink in cartridge and refill with it.

After seeing your requirement,my suggestion is go for laser jet printer.they are good with image printing and image quality.
Shelf life is not fix in always.Its depend on our use.Which type of color we are using and where we placed it.Theses things can affect the shelf life.
Choose cartridge from online store is really beneficial because they provide some discount on buying cartridges from their online store. ____________________
