On the forums I run, I never tolerate a member who is disrespectful of my mods. I usually will just ban them, this however almost never happens. As for a member bashing another member, I let it go. A little conflict never hurt a forum. :D
The biggest problem with paid posting services is that the writers aren't being paid enough. I've found that paying my writers well above the industry standard and giving them incentives to produce good work for the sake of getting a pay promotion has worked great concerning the quality of my …
I have joined many a forum, and the only annoying thing about them is the email confirmation. I too have tested whether of not disabling the email activation inreases conversion rate, and it did significantly. It's not like you can't still ask for a new members email address upon registration, …

When I was starting out with my forums (under 200 members) I would PM members who posted and then left for awhile. I would tell them about contents, offers, or just remind them about the forum. I'd say about 20 percent of the members came back and are now atleast …
I own two forums. I've found that selling banner space to be more lucrative than adsense. My forums are in a really small niche, so advertisers are willing to pay more for adspace, because the traffic is very targeted.
The End.
