I think that the message you told us about speaks for itself
The first error message that appears says a hard drive failure is imminent, press F1 to continue.
. Do you have any possibility to test it with another hard drive? The noise is probably caused by the …

I would try to go to Control Panel and then Sound. Check if your Realtek AC 97 is the default device there.

All security for now: Avira, AVG, Microsoft Security Essensials, Malware Bytes AntiMalware, Superantispyware.

If you do not want to reinstall both operating systems again (XP first and then Win 7) you can try using EasyBCD which will repair your boot manager. If you install and run it from XP you should also install the .net framework as it is required by EasyBCD.

The simplest way that I have found for enabling task manager, registry editor, hidden files and a lot others is Regain Power. You ca download it from Source Forge and it is completely free (I think it is open source).

Did you try to install the latest graphics driver from ATI's website? If not this is the first thing that I would try.

If your safe mode issue will not be solved after running mbam like caperjack suggested you should have a look at this and you could also try running combofix as it might also be able to fix safe mode. Use the download links from bleepingcomputer only. Avoid using combofix.org.

You should use a data recovery program to get the data out of the 300 gig drive and after that delete the partition (the 170 GB one) and start fresh. I have always had success with GetDataBack.

Use system restore. If that does not work try to find a solution on the FAQ of the Task Manager (not the one included in Windows) that you had installed.

Try to disable context menu integration features of programs that you have installed. A lot of programs have options to do so. I can give you an example with Winrar which has "Add to archive", "Compress and email". Some of these context menu features may interfere with explorer so I …

If you are trying to run program1.exe (example) located in d:\programdir you have to add d:\programdir to the path variable. You can do this by rightclicking on computer then properties -> advanced system settings -> advanced -> environment variables. Make sure that you separate it by the entry in front …

What is the error message that the .net 3.5 displays? Have you tried to google it? Maybe someone else ran into the same issue that you have.

Is your problem related only to Windows Media Player? Do you have any issues with other problems? I would recommend VLC media player as it requires no codecs, it is very stable, it is free and it is updated frequently.

You should try this http://www.softwaretipsandtricks.com/forum/windows-xp/17333-system-restore-tab-missing-xp-pro.html. At least go to the part with sr.inf, right click on it and click on install.

Do you use a router? Maybe it has DHCP disabled so that your Vista machine does not have where to take the IP from. If you use a router you have to be sure that DHCP is enabled from the admin interface.

You should first check that the recovery partition is not the first partition. You can do this by typing diskmgmt.msc in run or in the start menu search box. If it is not the first partition I think that you can safely delete it and reclaim the space (also by …

You probably have some rogue program or fake antivirus (something like a virus). Download and install MalwareBytes AntiMalware, update it and do a quick scan then come back with some results.

I did not understand clearly if you have 3 HDDs or 3 partitions. If you have 3 partitions on a single hard disk then you can use just about any partitioning software (I would recommend Hiren's boot cd which contains some partitioning software). If you run Windows Vista or Windows …

Try another power supply if you have one available. If the HDD led blinks like when Windows is loading and the display has no signal then your video card is busted or the connection from the display to the video card is loose.
