everything you need to know is in the message header. depending on your mail client it differs on how to get that information. Outlook is right click->message options cut and paste the contents of the internet headers box into something like [url]http://www.mxtoolbox.com/EmailHeaders.aspx[/url]

you should confirm the DSL settings with your ISP and match it to your modem. different ISP have different connectivity options.

This depends on the features of the router any and all wireless cards should have some type of security even WEP. Otherwise don't broadcast the SSID and check to see if you can limit connections by MAC Address which will give you semblance of control.
