you dont really need norton. get some software that use small up memory. i know about it cos i had that same problems about 2 years ago.. my computer ussually start up and shut down very slowly but i've sort everything out by uninstalling norton, install spybot s&d and AVG..
but microsoft disk cleanup takes long time to clean up.. why not get CCleaner software? it free and plus they got some great features such as startup disable/enable, uninstaller softwares, clean registry, clean cookies, temp files and so on
@nas777: angelgemini is using panda total protection 2010.. have you tries other software for removing viruses? there tons of free stuff out there such as spybot - S&D, AVG, adware and so on.. if all fails then there only 1 solution, format your computer
