Hi. this looks bad, i think you will have to contact IBM, or you can go to their ftp, ([url]ftp://ftp.pc.ibm.com/pub/ps1aptiva/update_files/bios/[/url]) and get a new BIOS. instructions for installing a BIOS differ with the BIOS manufacturer, but if you Google i think you will find them easily. If resetting the cmos doesn't help, we might be looking at a dead lcd backlight and the best in such a scenario is to change the lcd all together. cheers.
