You can find routing samples in the JavaScript SDK here http://developer.mapquest.com/web/documentation/sdk/javascript/v7.0/routing and samples using the Directions Web Service here http://www.mapquestapi.com/directions/. Basically what is happening is a request is made for the route and the json response is parsed for the shape points to put the route highlight on the map. …
