Pip22 DOES have the CORRECT Solution! Go in the bios and "DISABLE" USB LEGACY SUPPORT. This does work every single time. Once you select "disable" then select f10 to save the new settings---but before you exit/restart, Plug in your external hardrive---then restart---problem solved!

Try using "windows update". Once it is done finding updates for you, use the "CUSTOM" choice. Then on the left you should see choices of new update for you. See if the updated driver you are looking for is showing. Download it and see if it works.

Go into the control panel if possible, select keyboard, in there reset the keyboard to default. If you cant get to control panel then you may be out of choices. The next step would be to connect a different keyboard.
