off the page simply means building links to your website.

For me it really doesn't matter. If a page has lots of traffic and it is nofollow, I would be happy to put a link in it. But if a site is dofollow and no traffic at all, I wont put it.

If you mean search result ranking by improvement then you have to do link building. Thats all you got to do for now. Do not over do it, just do it naturally.

I haven't beem very good at Clickbank. If someone has a good book on it, I would appreciate if you share. I want to do good on CB. Thanks
