Since the Inspiron 4150 first came out in 2002, I realize your warranty may be gone, but you do still have phone support. You can get help to determine what the problem is, but would need to buy any parts needed if you warranty has expired. Tom
You do not say which model Dell computer you have. If you can reset BIOS and NVRAM, you should be able to boot from the OS CD, and start Recovery Console. If you can get the Recovery Console to start, run chkdsk /r. That should fix the problem.
