In my country server is not too busy and admins increase the speed without any problem
Just plug the both system with cable and try to connect with IP address
Thats why i m using google chrome, its never create any problem like this

I never know about any internal network more then that its connected via hub everywhere
If you have DSL connection then it will be disconnected may be by company due to working server
I dont ever face this problem with hotmail, Gmail now a days creating some problems like this
