I am not proficient in codding but the logic is to add two other fields: Islocked of datatype boolean which is set to false when LoginAttempts==3 and Time of lockedout.Then If (DateTime.Now() - lockedOutTime) > Oneday set Islocked false. Use Islocked in you ValidateUser arguement.
the path for windows looks like file://///hostname/Folder/... where Folder is the name of the folder that is shared
